The LESSONS of a Cowboy

Lessons of a CowboyAs Father’s day weekend approaches I find myself thinking more and more about my dad and the impact he had on my life. This Father’s day will be like swallowing a bitter pill because I lost him a little over 8 months ago.

These past few days I have found myself missing him and thinking of him a lot. Although I don’t get the privilege of going to the store and searching endlessly for the perfect card, with the perfect sentiment and the perfect picture I can honor him in a way that he would have been proud of.

Over the last few months I have written about some of the lessons taught through his cowboy way of life. I have gone back through the memories of our “truck talks”, “cattle work days”, “rodeo weekends” and our “barn time” and discovered my Dad was always sharing his wisdom. Hopefully through these little stories I can continue his legacy in the lessons and bring some healing to this still broken heart.

I’ll add a link to each story here so they will be easy for you to find.

I know this is a bittersweet time for you, but how precious that you have such sweet memories. Even though I never had the honor of meeting your Daddy, I know he would be proud.
